Siobhan Scalia Carroll is a public relations expert who develops and executes media relations, and marketing strategies for clients in a variety of industries. For nearly 20 years she has worked with companies in the high-tech, banking, healthcare, energy and not-for-profit sectors.
During this time Carroll created and implemented reputation management programs that positioned senior corporate executives as industry leaders. She launched countless new products, secured executive interviews, planned and implemented media events, developed internal and external communication strategies, and placed speakers at major trade shows. She also developed publicity strategies for both product and sales partnerships and worked closely with industry analysts.
A skilled writer, Carroll has a talent for turning complicated issues into easily understood concepts. Whether it is B2B or B2C, Carroll can pull out the nuggets of interest to captivate an editor’s interest. Working with business editors from Fortune and Forbes, to insurance journals, medical publications or local and national TV, Carroll has a knack for getting her client’s the right exposure at the right time.
Carroll has a particular expertise in communicating the business of technology and business. Her experience includes work with Banyan Systems, a networking software company, where she launched new product campaigns and developed trade show marketing programs. She also worked to position the company publicly during its IPO in 1992.
Additionally, Carroll spent six years supervising account teams that serviced high-tech clients such as The Open Group, an industry consortium that set open standards for computing infrastructure. She also worked with AP Engines and the Yankee Group, while with SVM in Providence, RI, one of New England’s legacy PR agencies.
Carroll worked with IntraPrise Solutions, a company that provides mortgage software and software for the healthcare sector. She developed and implemented a comprehensive marketing campaign as well as publicity strategies for software and sales partnerships. For BMc Strategies, a crisis communications company, she provided strategic counsel surrounding testimony delivered before legislative committees; media-trained executives and planned exhibitions at conferences throughout the United States.
Working with Chase Manhattan Bank in their New York-based international banking division, Carroll began her career by writing an award-winning newsletter targeting worldwide customers.
Carroll graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a BA in English. She lives and works in Rhode Island.
